Oct 11,  · A lot of folks may wonder why Ciccolini's 2nd omnibus of Satie's piano works keep getting reissued while the 1st has long gone out of print. Well, one answer is obvious, that the 2nd set is digital, but the analog set has a reputation for a warm natural sound, while the 2nd set is known for sonic harshness, due to a mix of pianos, close micing, and early digital technology/5(25).
