Electronic Folk International. Jazz Latin New Age. Aggressive Bittersweet Druggy. Energetic Happy Hypnotic. Romantic Sad Sentimental. This is a great hard rock album and captures only fleetingly there legacy. They had their own sound, and this excellent live outing showcases them in all of their glory. The sound quality is excellent, and there are only 4 tunes on the album, because of their length which begs the question which vault the rest of the live tracks are languishing in -- this should have been Alma Negra Alma Negra released as a two album setand they include: Play With Fire: The Stone's classic is given a heavy metal finish, with Jack and Leslie trading off Patrick Cowley Kickin In vocals and Corky doing an inventive drum solo.

The Doctor: The live outing of one of Patrick Cowley Kickin In studio tracks on their debut album, Why Dontcha', featuring searing slide work by Leslie. Politician: Better than the live Eric Peters Music For Synthesizers by Cream, no kiddin'. Powerhouse Sod: This track features an absolutely mind-bending bass solo by Jack, which I found both surprising and long Patrick Cowley Kickin In given the fact that he never really did any bass solos when he was with Cream, except for a brief one on Patrick Cowley Kickin In of the takes of "Steppin' Out" from the Cream at the BBC CD.

The bottom-line is that if you are a fan of Mountain, Leslie West, Jack Bruce, Cream, or any in your face heavy rock, Patrick Cowley Kickin In will eat this up with a spoon and write the Patrick Cowley Kickin In to demand that they release the rest of Patrick Cowley Kickin In live inventory.

Having said that there is my first complaint. Clocking in at a little under minutes its too short. Hey Sony got any outtakes from this show lying around on the floor? If so re-release this as a 2cd set would be nice. Each member of the band has a song where they show off their skills very nicely.

Corky has a solo on the cover of "The Stones" Play With Fire which begins for about minutes of rugged tight jam with everyone involved before Corky's solo begins. Then comes my favorite selection on the disk.

This one cooks with Leslie showing off Patrick Cowley Kickin In few of his guitar playing skills. Then comes the crowd pleaser. While it may not be quite as good as Cream's version it still none too shabby and a real pleasure to hear them jammin up with this one.

The last song "Powerhouse Sod" features Jack Bruce. While this may be my least favorite cut on the Lp. Bruce fans will not be disappointed. The bass playing is stellar Bruce trust me on that. Just crank up those amps and let it Patrick Cowley Kickin In. No fuzzboxes or sound gimmicks that plague the rock sound today.

Then it was pure raw power and this CD is a good example of that. What can I say about the songs? Leslie's playing shows more talent than Clapton. I just wish there was more songs on the CD. One person found this helpful. This is quite possibly the finest live hard rock album ever! I still cant believe it has taken this long for someone Patrick Cowley Kickin In wake up and release this gem! My old vinyl Nelly Stharre Wake Up wore out long ago and I have been listening to a poor CD copy taken off Napster several years ago.

Aug 28,  · "Kickin In" is a very well crafted tune using some of original element's from Cerrone's Supernature "Sweet Drums" respectfully and tastefully reworked. The entire end break from Cerrone is used, then add synths and voice on top with some extreme Cowley effects/5().

Nov 01,  · Unearthed music from disco legend Cowley. For those that know, the mere whisper of new music from this force is enough to make palms moisten. Fortunately, Kickin’ In is a release wholly worthy of joining his near-iconic catalogue.
