Mozart: Piano Sonatas (complete) It must have ‘taste and feeling’ and it should ‘flow like oil’ (interestingly, Beethoven recalled Mozart’s own playing as being ‘rather choppy’). As many fine pianists have demonstrated, it’s possible to play with taste and feeling and still be rather dull. Uchida is never that, though her playing is utterly without 5/5.

AllMusic Review by Patsy Morita. Philips has reissued, at an affordable price, Mitsuko Uchida 's recordings of all the Mozart piano sonatas. It's a great package for anyone who hasn't heard her celebrated performances of these or may have only heard one or two. She uses a lightness of touch and approach as if she were playing on an instrument more 10/

Oct 21,  · Mitsuko Uchida plays Mozart like we all wish we could. When I study a Mozart piano sonata, it is this recording I go to to compare my own playing. That said, she does seem to race through some of the sonata movements, to my liking anyway, where I would take tempo a bit slower/5(57).
